TIPs
What is the Duck River Like
(fast/slow)?
Answer: The Duck
River is a slow, meandering
river. It is perfect for
beginners or families with
children that
want a relaxing ride without
having too much prior canoe/kayak
knowledge or skill. The river
usually is about 4-5 feet deep on
avg. Though there are spots that
are much deeper and also some
spots that are much more shallow.
Water level is always in direct
relation to the amount of
precipitation that we have had
in the area. Due to the number
of cities that are getting water
from the river, even in dry
weather we have a good flow so
cities can get the water they
need. Back to Top
Can
I bring my own canoe or kayak on
one of your trips?
Answer: Yes you
can. We charge the same price. You bring
it and we will
drop you in for either our 3 or
4-hour trip, as well as the
overnight trip.

Are
the canoe/kayak/tubing trips
guided?
Answer: No, we do not have guides
for our trips on the Duck River.
We are strictly an outfitter
that provides rental equipment
and the service of
transportation to and from the
river. It's real simple -- you go
down the stream until you see
the stop sign. In 36 years no
one has accidentally got lost. Back to Top
Are
we allowed to bring food and
beverages on the Duck River?
Answer: Yes, you may bring food
and
beverages...glass container beverages
are strictly forbidden and will
not be tolerated. Please be
aware that we need to keep our
waterways clean, so please
remember that all trash needs to
be packed out in a trash can
available at take-out. Back to Top
Are
we allowed to bring pets on the
river trips?
Answer: Yes, pets are welcome to
play on the river as well,
though, owners must be aware
that they will be riding in vans
or buses to the river put-in and
must get along with other people
and possibly other pets. Back to Top
What is the maximum number of
people that you can accommodate?
Answer: We
can accommodate 100
people at one time in the middle of the
summer. If you have a large
group, the further in advance
the reservation is made, the
more likely we are to
accommodate your group. We will
use large buses to transport
people to and from the river.

What is the refund policy for
trips?
Answer:
Weather conditions for
outdoor activities change
constantly throughout the day.
We try to make reasonable
predictions on weather
conditions every morning, before
reserved trips are scheduled to
depart. However, during the
course of the day before our
closing time, numerous changes
may occur in local weather
conditions that we simply cannot
predict. Therefore, the policy
at Duck River Canoe Trips is TO OFFER REFUNDS due to weather
conditions during your outdoor
activity. Back to Top
How do I know when I get to the
end of the trip?
Answer: There's a stop sign on the
left side of the river. Do
not go past the bridge.
