In the
1960s, Carl Frost came to
Tennessee with the vision to
create the best canoeing
experience for families in the
state. Being an experienced
surveyor, he viewed all of
Middle Tennessee by air and
water for the perfect stretch
and settled on our portion of
the river. Duck River Canoe
Rental was born.
Carl especially liked this
stretch of the river
because of its natural charm,
wildlife, and for the waters
that were friendly for families
and first-timers. With this
ideal in mind, Duck River Canoe
Rental became the first canoe
company in this
part of the state for the Duck
River.
Since it was founded, our
company has been a family-run
business. Larry and Karen Wells
acquired DRCR in 2006 so
it could stay open and
be
enjoyed by many. Duck River
Canoe strives to maintain Carl's
original vision for their
customers who want a unique
experience of Tennessee's
natural treasure first hand.
They will continue to
do so until they can pass the
torch to another owner that
shares the same passion to
preserve this experience on the
Duck River.
